- <p>Poor cohesion between new snow and an older windcrust on north-facing aspects in open areas below treeline. 6-8 inches of new snow seemed to have fallen straight down – no discernable wind effect – forming a loose, collapsible layer over this weekend's windcrust which was stiff and smooth. Made for a funny skiing surface.</p> <p>Isolated collapsing and whumphing on approach on southeast faces.</p>
