- <p>We are still dealing with a very shallow snow pack in the La Sals. Much of what is their is old sugary snow from our previous storms. </p>

- <p>If we get a decent accumulations out of this next storm then we should all expect to see some natural avalanche activity in the following days. Human triggered avalanches will be a possibility on slopes that have held onto snow from our few previous storms.</p>
4" to 6" of low density snow fell yesterday afternoon in a quick moving storm. At the trailhead it was obvious that their had been some heavy winds overnight however we did not see much wind affected snow on our tour today. In open sun exposed areas the new snow fell on top of a 1/2" supportable melt freeze crust making for some scratchy but fun turns. In more sheltered areas the new snow added to our meager snow pack. Things are still thin in the woods but it looks like we are one big storm away from being able to start poking into other areas.
