Went up to the PC Ridgeline to observe the faceting process and map out the preexisting snow. S facing slopes below 8500' were bare. Most slopes aside from that held snow. N facing slopes were completely faceted to the ground. The faceted grains were not particularly large (1mm and 2mm in some spots). Dug a pit at 9500' N that had a crust 17 cm down (HS 60cm). Faceting was exacerbated above and below this crust (see profile).
