South of Teton Pass

Along our walk to Mount Elly we felt the snow grumbling underneath us with many collapses along the route. 

Rime had caked much of the landscape above 9,000'. We took a look at some south facing terrain and it was still quite thing and bushy. The heavy recent snow has been great for improving travel, but early season conditions still exist with rocks and grass still sticking out. 

We did not see any avalanches occur today, but there were plenty to observe that occured in the last 48 hours. The snowpack was growling with many collapses on a variety of terrain. Cracking was also noted on slopes with a little bit of angle to them. Lots of signs that the poor snow structure is alive and well.
