I observed the remains of another block that shed off of the east facing cliff band on the summit of Stouts. This one did not rip all the way down the gut like the one from a couple of weeks ago, but it did cover up the skin track set last week. I don't know if many skiers have stood on top of Stouts during the dry seasons, but I am always amazed by how the snow fills in those beefy cliff bands. I was hanging out on top, waiting for my corn to cook, and could hear the remaining block groaning under the early morning sun. I think it has a chance to pop off on Tuesday in the next heatwave. Side note, know your winter wildlife closures. Stay on that main road until you make some good ground up Gopher Canyon. Side side note, I did see some black bear tracks down low, if you are really lucky and really patient maybe you could wait around longer than me and have a chance of spotting the bruin.
