Quick report
This week's storm snow has settled and felt a bit slabbier near treeline compared to what I saw two days ago a few basins over near Redwell. The faceted crust remains problematic about a foot deep here. As we descended below about 10,700', this week's storm totals and presence of slabs diminished.
No signs of instability were noted until ski-cutting a slab avalanche.Weather

Snowpack
Early this morning, east and south aspects had a melt-freeze crust from yesterday. Northeast and north aspects held about 12" of dry snow near treeline and half of that at lower elevations.

Ski cut a soft slab avalanche that failed on the faceted melt-freeze crust just under a foot thick. Given the long running terrain here, this grew to a D2 in size and part of the crown connected into an adjacent path.
