Quick Observation

The Pulpit area was pretty chewed up, soft snow but old tracks where pretty hard when skiing over them. The day started out clear, cold and sunny, and ended cloudy with some precip. moving in. Observed 3 separate cornice failures coming off of the cliffs above the backside bowl, fairly large booms with debris making it all the way to the slope below, stay safe out there everyone!

Snowpack

Dug a pit on the west facing slope in the back Pulpit bowl. No reaction on a compression test, snow seemed fairly well consolidated however the deeper crust is still present and faceting.
