Found good fun riding conditions up in the Torpy area today. We didn't see any signs of avalanches but visibility was pretty bad. We dug a quick pit around 1700m at the tree line on an east facing slope. The total snow was 235cm and we found a weak layer of buried surface hoar crystals down 35cm. This layer reacted stubbornly in our tests but we suspect it could become touchier and more easy to trigger when it gets some more load on it with additional snowfalls.
