Quick Observation

On Saturday Feb 17th my girlfriend and I skied from circlet Lake up to Albert Edward. Mid way up the Jutland Ramparts (approx 1370m elevation.) We dug a pit and cut a Collum test. There were packed snow layers at 19, 27, and 38cm with a hard 1cm crust at 50cm During the Collum test the 27cm settled at M5. (15 hits) And the hard crust at 50cm released at H2. (22 hits) After summiting the ridge we encountered hard, windpacked snow all the way to Albert Edward. This made for an easy skin and a fast descent! There was a TON of evidence of snowmobiles within the park boundarys as well. with tracks reaching up to the summit of Jutland. This was highly disappointing to see and ski on in spots!
