Quick Observation
Quick trip out to Allan Brooks today. Within the area toured no signs of unstable snowpack or avalanche conditions were observed even when stomping on moderate angle slopes. Surface hoar was present everywhere and more prominent at higher elevations. South facing aspects had a 1-2cm weak crust. From the summit of Allan Brooks a size 2 avalanche from the last storm cycle was visible on the flanks of Jutland Mountain on an east facing slope (pictured). Cause and timing unknown. Snowmobiles were very active within the boundaries of Strathcona Park 🤬.
