Exploratory sled mission through core Fernie sledding terrain pre-grooming start up this week. Navigitable but borderline terrible off trail conditions in all but dense, sheltered trees. Down jacket required at staging area, T-Shirt and Gortex shell at upper elevation. Snow remained dry. HS dirt - 80cm. Large surface hoar in all areas. Challenging riding conditions with many open creek crossings forcing the (Arctic) Cat to get her belly wet.
