Hollyburn

Hollybrun 10am, precipitation S2, sky obscured/foggy, strong south wind. Dig a 50cm quick and dirty pit on 40° degrees NW aspect slope at 1310 meters. Snow profile (superficial layer to deeper layer) : Windslab 10cm thick poorly bonding to a 15cm storm slab. 2 failures occurred 25cm and 40 cm down between storm slabs (pictures). Compared to yesterday the snowpack changed a lot with the wind and rising temperatures. Below treeline snow was wet and heavy. At treeline S-SW aspects were wind hammered and wind loaded on NW aspects.
