Rode KHMR Slack country for the last 2 days (Jan 8 & 9) could definitely feel the change in snow from Monday to Tuesday storm snow starting to slab up more along with wind in some areas. We stayed in Conservative Terrain and avoided convex & wind loaded features. On the tour out of canyon creek on a west aspect experienced a number of settlements ,Whumpfing & cracking in isolated , sheltered areas between 1820m right up to around 2000m confirming that the buried SH layer is close to or at threshold and prime for human triggering. Great snow/skiing to be found as long as you really assess terrain & exposure given the current problems.
