After the morning snow fall I headed up in the afternoon to find 10 inches of new supportive medium density snow. I dug on a northwest slope at 10500 ft. and at that location found the melt/freeze layer has turned into large grained facets and no longer has any cohesion. The basal snow consists of pencil hard rounds on the dirt followed up with large grained facets on top all the way to our high and dry layer which consists of an inch of small grained facets. My ECT propagated across the entire block within the basal facets in a single loading step on my 18th elbow tap however at 22 degrees only moved a few inches and did not fall into the pit.
