Nice storm considering what was forecasted. In the new storm snow, the first inch or two was dense and contained a fair amount of graupel, above that, the snow was medium density. The lack of sun today kept the snow soft in the upper elevation terrain but below about 8500 ft the snow surface was damp and the valley bottom was sloppy. Instabilities observed were in the new snow only. Sluffing in steeper terrain with an underlying crust, but moving sluggishly and not entraining a lot of snow. No alarming results in pit tests. The upper 24" of the pack is a layer cake of crusts and facets.

Snowpack
3"-8" of new storm snow depending on elevation. Decent storm considering we were only expecting to get a few inches. Snow below about 8500 damp on exit. Wet on the Weber Canyon road. Low elevation snow took a big hit with the warm temps the last few days and the road is getting thin and the parking lot is muddy.
