Dug a pit northeast slope at 1490 meters, at 27 degree incline. Foot penetration 35 cm HS157. 15 cm of fresh snow on top of a thin ice crust. Another ice crust 20 cm down from this, 2 cm thick, below this is 40 cm of pencil hard rounds. Did two compression tests with little to no results. Because of the strong winds moving the fresh snow, watch for slab avalanche dangers due to the drifting on leeward slopes on top of thin ice crusts.
Please be aware of where you riding. Each slope is different.
