Quick Observation

We were hoping to get some cream cheese like turns in the alpine but instead at 1800m we encountered a 5cm thick rain crust. The rain line appeared to have extended to almost 2000m. Ski, sled and dog pen were pretty much zero. The crust was supportive until it wasn't making for challenging travel conditions. There were naturals from the overnight period however since the cooling we did not not see any fresh avalanches. Our test profile showed the older storm bonding well to the snow below.
