Wind slab became more prominent as we got above treeline. Cracking readily under and in front of ski tips at unsupported skin track corners but no cracking noted when traveling over convex rolls or on steeper terrain. Dug a quick pit at approximately 5000' on a SW aspect. Snowpack over 280cm deep. Wind slab overlying first crust approximately 15cm down(2/13 crust?). 4 finger snow density until 2nd crust encountered 50cm down(1/10 complex?) below that snowpack was more uniform 1F hardness until dense ice layer around 120cm down. Column Test failed at 6 taps on the 2/13 crust.
