Quick report
Today was a stormier than expected day on Jim Hill given the forecast. We had a few sun breaks but it was mostly snowing lightly for whole afternoon, with ridgeline winds gusting to approximately 20 mph. We observed minimal wind transport despite the abundance of light snow, although our skin track did fill with a combination of blown and fallen snow between laps (approx 1 hr) especially above treeline. Maybe 2-4cm of new snow fell throughout the day. Light was fairly flat above treeline although skiing quality was quite good. We saw no signs on instability except for one small (<D1) wind slab which I triggered on a steep cross loaded gully just below the summit of Jim Hill. I was able to easily ski off without incident. Skier triggered wind slab on cross loaded gully just below the summit of Jim Hill. Crown approx 5-10cm deep, 10 meters wide at widest point. Skier skied off without incident. Avalanche ran approx 30 vertical meters
