Strong SW winds transporting recent storm snow. In resort, cornice buildup up to 4ft in isolated locations on the ridge. We were able to kick some stubborn 1F+ hard blocks off our ridgeline. Very shallow 2-4" wind slab beneath cornice was unreactive to ski cutting.

Saw this avalanche from the top of Summit Chair, Tamarack Resort the morning of 2/23/26. There are ski tracks near the slide path indicating a possible skier trigger, however strong winds and cornice building conditions this morning also point to a possible cornice collapse for a trigger. We did not notice this avalanche yesterday when it was likely skied. Size was hard to judge from afar but based on how wide it broke, we estimated D1.5-D2.
