Quick report

We toured N-NE-E-SE aspects today on Silver Peak. We were able to capitalize on solar aspect corn and polar aspect surface facets. We spent a fair bit of time looking for the surface hoar/crust combo that was buried on Jan 27. We found it in a few different places in well shaded northerly aspect terrain. It is not widespread in this area. We found this layer only near the lower portion of drainages and often far away from open water. We were unable to find this layer above an elevation of 7,300' in this zone.

No signs of instability observed in this area today.
