Quick report

Ventured up the phantom trees to about 5400’. Accumulation of new snow below 4500’ was less than 8”. Above 4500’ the depth grew quickly to about 18 inches at 5400’. Observed weak faceted layers above the EFC in a hasty pit. The approximately 18” of snow above the EFC was somewhat cohesive yet still dry and loose. With a gentle pull an isolated block slide along the faceted surface above the EFC. Skiing on the way down was delightful but the snow levels remain low especially on the lower mountain.
