Dug numerous hand pits on the way up Snoqualmie Mtn to about 5300ft. Examined only south facing slopes. Active wind loading in the mid-mountain meadows formed shallow windslabs up to 10cm thick, and scoured down to melt freeze crust in some areas near the col above the west phantom glades. Upper 40cm of snowpack was notably for wind slab formation overlying appx 10cm of F soft storm snow with a thin melt/freeze crust. Underlying this was wet rounds that were well adhered to the high-pressure crust. All interfaces were resistant and non-planar. Small storm slabs were reactive on test slopes, but all ran on intra-storm interfaces. Could see the flank and debris of what looked like ~ D1.5 that ran high in the the snot, but through blowing snow it was difficult to say with any certainly how deep it had run.
