Cracking
isolated

6" of new snow over decaying crust. In some areas hand pits showed 1F over 4F 6" down. Cracking extended down to this interface but could never get propagation no matter how hard we tried (up to jumping on convexities). Best we could generate was popping small blocks off under our feet on 35 degree N aspect slopes. Some areas did not have a distinct interface at this depth. Based on surface features wind has mostly come from the west. On this day wind was moderate from the North. No evidence of past avalanches. We traveled on Northern aspects. Could not find faint gray line at the spots we checked. Snow line at 3000' floation at 3500'. Nothing worth riding until 4200'
