Quick report
Toured Mt Judah this morning. As expected the NE winds have take their toll on the snow surface conditions in this area. Pretty much all the snow that was available for transport on N and E has been moved in some way. N facing treed terrain now holds severely wind affected/sculpted snow. E facing terrain has been scoured back down the crust from before the snow early this week. The avalanche crown that was there 2 days ago has been erased. What’s left is firm wind affected snow and old raised tracks. Cornices have been partially eroded but not totally. What’s left are chunks of cornice that will most definitely fail with this weekends rise in temperatures. I rode W and SW facing terrain trying to find wind drifted soft snow but did not find any. The surface conditions on these aspects were smooth but with a thick frozen crust as of noon. Only positive for today was the wind affected snow was grippy and made uphill travel easy especially with the strong wind at your back
