Quick report
- Collapsing
- isolated
We chose to tour in generally low angle terrain and SW/W/NW aspects today. Generally 4’ of new snow in this area with wind transport evident on ridgetops. We dug a quick pit in a protected W facing drainage down to the new/old snow interface. 120cms of storm snow in this area with multiple density changes in the new snow. We found buried near surface facets here but no evidence of buried surface hoar. We experienced some minor collapsing that felt like it was coming from a density change in the upper 30cms of the new snow.
