Quick report
The car thermometer said 10 degrees while driving through Hope Valley on the way to Red Lake Peak this morning. Temperatures warmed quickly but we didn't experience any softening on sun-exposed east facing slopes by our noon departure. We did find soft fresh snow on the north aspects, although the upper ridges were a bit scoured, and some snow had been moved around overnight creating shallow wind slabs on east aspects. Skiing the soft snow on north aspects we didn't observe any evidence of wind slab. We also saw evidence of scouring lower on north faces. The most wind-hammered ridges were scoured down to a crust with graupel still embedded.
