Quick report
Tour 1pm-8pm. Per pics, brief but enjoyable BTL NW-facing turns down to Galena Creek, selective creek crossing at seemingly rare snow bridge, soft but surprisingly efficient 1400’ SE-facing ascent to 9.3K’ melt-out (ie boot penetration typically only to lower ankle w selective route-finding maximizing time away from vegetation and slope edges) and with 1-2 hours of shading a firm, but edgeable and ski-(even jump turn)-supportable descent back down into drainage around 6:30pm. Also, during hike/scramble up ridge to about 9.8K’, noted more due easterly-facing coverage on far side if ridge was a bit more robust and post-hole prone. No noted signs of instability (cracking, whumping, pinwheels/rollerballs, etc) or recent avalanches (though as one of the pics captures, below the apparent refreeze crust was a seemingly damp snowpack).
