Today might be the definition of "variable." Surface snow for skinning and skiing was entirely dependent on aspect, shading, elevation, vegetation, time, and temperature. Better skiing might be found with an early start. We ascended Summit Flat Road until about 7,000 ft, where we skinned up to the ridge and onwards to Top Of The World. Our tests near Top Of The World on an east facing aspect yielded no fractures (CTN and ECTX). Tests were performed in a 64 cm deep pit, east facing, appx. 7885 ft. 35-64 cm (fist transitioning down to four fingers) 26-35 cm crust (knife) 7-26 cm slab (four fingers-fist-four fingers) 0-7 cm facets
