Quick report
- Collapsing
- isolated
Skied the north aspects of the Skyline area. Observed approximately 4-8" of new storm snow over the late March crust with cloudy and small snow showers throughout the day. South facing aspects on the climb had about 1" of snow on a solar crust from yesterday that broke down as the day went on. No cracking or instability on the approach, and tested some steeper rollovers before committing to skiing, with no movement. However, I was able to get a small section to release within the new snow interface on a ski cut on an isolated steeper angle feature - about the width of skis and ran a short ways down. Widespread warming pattern with lots of roller balls from ski tracks, skin track, and trees kept us in the shade and out of there before the afternoon.
