Quick report
Toured from Stevens Pass resort parking up to the ridgeline above Skyline Lake, then dropped to backside down Skyline Bowl West. Snow quality became more light and dry as we gained elevation, but a firm crust from the rain event was easily noticeable when planting your pole. Hand pits showed little consolidation of the recent snow, but temperatures along with wind were increasing on our return. Flotation was easy with skis on (only sinking a few inches) but boot pen was above the knee. The new snow, while still soft, was heavier on the frontside on our way back to the car.
