We experienced one large collapsing whumph at 6500' W aspect. We found the culprit to be a thin layer of faceted snow down 76cm (likely the Jan 8 layer), which produced ECT-P 19. Unknown whether this layer was involved in the natural avalanches observed.
Avalanche
We observed 8 natural avalanches on a NW aspect of Wallaby Peak, with start zones between 7000-7500' in extreme terrain. Visibility was poor, and we could hear them better than we could see them, but at least one was large enough to generate an impressive powder cloud. We were unable to locate crowns due to vis, and were uninterested in getting any closer.
