Quick report
New snow that fell over the weekend was apparently largely melted by heavy rains. This morning, old and new snow above 6000' was covered in clear hard ice that was about 2" thick above 7000' . By mid-afternoon, we had returned to spring corn conditions below 7800' and the ice above was softening fast.
Avalanche
One very shallow slab avalanche on a very steep east aspect slope at 6700'. The crest was about 50' long but only a few inches high. It ended when it overran big crest from last week. It looked fresh and was definitly from this weekend's storm. A skier triggers a small loose wet avalance at 6500' that dropped several hundred feet down a steep SE aspect slope. Just a D1, but enough ti signal soem instability today as the sun baked the recent orecip.
