Quick report

Skied in Cement and Lake Basins. It was informative to observe which trees had been stripped of snow by the wind as we pulled into the resort parking in the morning. Large swaths of trees were surprisingly bare. We observed some cornice debris on the E aspect below the ridgeline between East Peak and the unnamed high point above Scout Pass (cornice chunks), but all of it fell, slid a short distance if at all, and stopped. Surprisingly, snow was most enjoyable on S aspects (similar reported by friends skiing off Crown Point) and surprisingly variable elsewhere else with a pervasive, perceptible, but insubstantial wind crust, including on usually more sheltered N aspects. (A ~2" top layer was stiffer than soft snow below and would break underfoot but was not cohesive enough to pick up the chunks by hand without them dissembling.)
