Quick report
Quite a brutal day to break trail. It took my partner and I multiple hard-fought hours to reach the saddle between Guye and Cave Ridge. At which point, we surrendered and ate a sandwich. At least 1m of new snow sitting atop the most recent rain crust now, pretty dense and slightly upside down. On our exit, many many tree bombs started going off. Sun came out around 1PM and made its presence known.
Avalanche
Heard Alpy patrol throwing shots all day and some of them sounded (and later confirmed visually) productive. Plenty of dry loose sluff piles seen on the horizon, from Source Lake to Kendall.
