Smiley creek

11:00 temps were 37F and 47F at 15:00 at the highway. Tests were on N slope, 20*, CTV (1), ECTPV Q1 at 70cm up. This is the layer of concern. Last weeks new snow is sitting on a 1cm crust. Tests failed under that crust on a faceted layer. Didn't have my kit with me. Cracking was isolated to the skin track. Had a couple small collapses on the top of the ridge. Stayed on the north aspects. While skiing you would collapse the crust. Cracking was localized to skin track. A couple of collapses on the ridge.
