Cracking
isolated

We toured onto Hogback Ridge and dug a pit SE of Hogsback mountain, 6600ft elevation, SE aspect, 25 degree slope Our ECT had a failure on the recent storm snow at 6" with two taps from the wrist. We had an additional failure at 12" at 4 taps from the wrist, probably on the 12/25 crust. The pit was definitely more reactive than we were expecting. Overall the snow was right side up, with a total depth of 120cm. We did notice cracking once we were off the ridge, and noticed cornices starting to build on the ridge. We did not see any avalanches, but it was very foggy and we did see a lot of debris that came down prior to the recent snow.
