Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
Parked at the normal spot with just enough to skin uphill on. At 6400’ there was 20cm on top of a refrozen layer. At 8000’ there was 60cm on top of the same layer. Either almost 2’ of new snow we played it generally safe but did have one rollover that we triggered. We knew it was going to go and skied to a safe spot of safety and watched it slowly roll by on a 100’ slope. It snowed over 5-6” during a 5 hour period with strong wind.
Avalanche
Convex rollover popped and slid with minimum energy due to being a small slope. Still it slide through a couple large trees that could have spelled disaster.
