Quick report
I skied toured up from Baker Lake Trailhead to Baker Lake and Trapper Peak. Surface Hoar was present in multiple locations along the tour, but seemed to be most widespread below 8000 feet. In some higher elevation locations it appeared that surface hoar had been formed, but then destroyed. Melt freeze crust was very widespread, and present everywhere except the deepest woods and steep north facing slopes. The biggest surprise of the day was on the way back: It was snowing! It seemed to be snowing from 8500 down to about 7200. There was 2-3 cm of new, very low density snow by 1:00pm. It did not seem to be snowing anywhere else.
