Toured up to the crystal theater area to check out the snowpack and get my dog out for a hike. Booted to the first road cut from the main trailhead off hwy 12 due to thin coverage. The snowpack was wet throughout all layers and there was a 5cm breakable surface crust. At 6000 ft I found a north facing gully that I lapped a few times. The skiing was quite enjoyable with the warm temperatures providing spring like conditions with great corn snow to be had. I was not able to produce any wet slides during any of my runs today while ski cutting at the top of slopes. Most south aspects were melted out to rock/dirt. Pray for snow.
