Quick report
Warm afternoon with good corn at 10,000' at Camp Muir and descending at 3:45 PM. Descended headwall of Anvil Rock to Moon Rocks in good corn with usual mix of snow textures and no sliding. Corn gave way to mush by maybe 7500'. Took the Alta Vista slope back to Paradise and eyed the shaded slopes of Alta Vista with suspicion. Thought it likely that I would be ski-cutting it as I snowboarded across and as I glanced back I noticed that was correct. No triggered slabs. but if the circumstances lined up perfectly wrong it could've knocked over a hapless tourist (I redirected a couple tourists who were going to head down to the apron under Nisqually Chutes in their sneakers a few weeks ago - stay safe out there!).

Ski(snowboard) cut the mildly steep E-NE slope under Alta Vista for a D1-1.5 avalanche: crown was maybe 3-6" and around 100' wide. Most ran around 50' but some that was in a small dip/gully in the slope entrained more snow and ran around 150 vertical feet with debris maybe 3' thick.
