Heading up from Devil’s Kitchen where you would normally ascend to the Hogsback the steep east facing slope sounded a little odd. Dug a quick hand pit with my axe and it released immediately with almost no pressure about 6-7” down. No cracking from footsteps. Others had traversed that slope but I turned around at that point.
