With low visibility we couldn't see much other then right in front of us. lots of small wind slabs and a fair amount of snow available for transport. We dug pit at 8700 ft on a North East aspect. Snow depth was 75 cm. We found two ice crusts but the rest of the snow pack was right side up. No weak layer at the ground but this was an isolated test. We had an ECTN 14 at 47 cm, on top of the first ice crust and an ECTN 21 with at 28 cm, just below the second ice crusts. Even though we didn't find propagation in our two results both breaks were clean and smooth. Experienced cracking on wind slabs that had formed in the last 24 hrs and felt random collapsing on South and South East aspects. We also kicked off some small wind slabs on a NNE aspect.

Light to moderate winds blowing from multiple directions but primarily NNE. Other than a few moments the sun stayed hidden all day and visibility was about a quarter mile. It was snowing when we arrived, 10 am, and persisted until 2 pm depositing about three inches on our truck.
Snowpack
We found 10 cm of new snow bonding to a 20 cm storm slab for a day ago. we also found two ice crust, one 5 cm thick at 47 cm and the other 2 cm thick at 30 cm.
