Quick Observation

Definitely a lot less storm snow in this area than the flathead/lizard range to the south but still some fun riding to be found. We dug down on a lee north aspect at 2110m and found a total of 230cm but only 20cm of storm snow on the old surface (see photo). We had no significant results with our snowpack tests (CT and ECT). The deep persistent layer from early season was down 160cm. On steep south aspects we found a much shallower snowpack and a series of old suncrusts including one on the surface. Generally the best powder riding we found was on sheltered north and east facing slopes.
