Quick report

No signs of instability were observed. The HS in the area observed was 275 to 315 cm. increasing clouds throughout the day. 11 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds light and variable. We dug two snow pits—one at 7178 at a northeast aspect with 315 hs. The second snow pit was at 7024 on a southwest aspect with 275 hs. We experienced no alarming results or propagation in our snowpack test. We observed what seemed to be old cross-loaded slopes on most west aspects and leeward ridge lines. We avoided wind-loaded terrain. Stability seemed very good. The 1/3 Rain Crust was found 30-40 cm from the surface and was 10 cm thick below 7,000' and became less noticeable above that elevation.
