Did the Bow - Yoho over 26-29 April and exited via the Iceline / Emerald lake exit. Stayed at Bow hut (1x) - Guy (2x) - SM (1x).
Excellent coverage in the alpine - very hard / supportive conditions during the trip with mod N winds that kept temps quite cool - temps crept up significantly on the 29th. Powder stashes could be found in lee terrain. We were probing over 3m in most locations and did not note any extensive sags or open crevasses along the way aside from obvious ones.
SUMMITS: St-Nicholas/Onion col (teeth chattering skiing), Yoho peak (tracked out with refrozen fossilized tracks), Mount Collie (good - gigantic cornice at the top that is very challenging to cross either over or under to get to summit), McArthur and Isolated peak (very good). We did not attempt President/VP but reports were of hard skiing with threatening cornices.
INGRESS: Bow hut canyon / mousetrap was challenging - bring ski crampons or skin very carefully if re-frozen. Ski crampons fairly mandatory on the trip (mouse trap, isolated col, etc)
EGRESS: great coverage on Iceline trail down to Yoho pass and first 200m of vert in the trees. Then it gets interesting - huge amount of debris in the paths leading to Emerald lake. Crossing the lake is no longer an option. Thin coverage on the trail but was still skinnable but won't last long in the heat. Reports was that it was a 6km+ walk on the road.
