Mount Columbia

Skied E face of Mt Columbia yesterday car to car, 14 hours. 2am start, -7 at the car. Be advised, you can't park in the lower lot. An excellent overnight freeze granted fast travel, we traveled in 2 teams of 2. The face is riddled with small crevasses near the summit, my team remained roped for the bootpack. The ski down was extremely poor, a mix of crusty ice & the odd mashed potato. Ended up down climbing the majority of it. Good skiing back to the trench, death march back to the top of the icefields. Good skiing on the headwall & back to the lower lot. 2400m, 43km day.
