Quick Observation

Observed 20 cm thick storm slab at Mt. Seymour this morning sitting on an unsupportive layer of graupel or hail. Graupel was significantly worse on SW aspects than SE aspects, but existed on both. Hand sheers indicated that the storm slab was not well bonded to the snow beneath it. The temperatures were warm and the snow was cohesive and wet. Skiing on SE aspect produced small loose wet slides with no cracking or whumpfing.
