Warm day, we opted for Log Cabin when clouds rolled in. We skinned up to 1400m then descended from there due to limited visibility and softening snow. Overcast and light south wind, temp was up to 8C at 1230 in the alpine. Skiing was consistent soft mushy spring snow. Didn’t seem to freeze last night but it was still supportive for travel even in the trees at lower elevation early afternoon. Probed averaged 220cm snowdepth at treeline. Temp 10cm down at 1000m was 0C and top 10 cm of snow as soft. On the drive we saw a big bear crossing the ice on Tutshi Lake.
