In the Corbin area (Raingauge) we found strong winds were stripping open slopes down to the melt-freeze crust and building isolated wind slabs in the alpine and treeline. We traveled mostly on windward slopes in the alpine today, so really happy to have our ski crampons. We suspect that where wind slabs are building at upper elevations they may be a bit more reactive but found that at treeline wind slabs were more stubborn. We did get a few steep rollovers to release with some work.
